Why Punji

Most Nepali investors stitch three apps and a spreadsheet together before breakfast. We built one place that knows NEPSE — the holidays, the math, the language — so checking your shares feels less like work.

On one screen

Three things, done quietly and well.

  1. 01

    Know what you’re holding, anytime.

Open the app, see your live portfolio next to the day’s market — gains, losses, what moved. The number you see is the one you can trust.

  2. 02

    Sell without the tax-math gymnastics.

Punji shows you what lands in your bank — after capital gains tax, after broker fees — before you tap confirm. No spreadsheets, no calculator app.

  3. 03

Read the floor, not just the ticker.

See who is buying and who is selling — broker by broker, share by share. The activity behind the price, surfaced quietly when you need it.

Built in Nepal

For the investor checking the market at 11:01 — not for a generic global one.

Punji speaks Nepali natively, knows Bakar EID, follows the Inland Revenue brackets, and renders Devanagari properly. The numbers you see came from the right source — not a screen-scraped clone.

Made by one Nepali engineer who has been trading on NEPSE since 2020 — and replies to every email.

Questions

The honest answers.

What is Punji?
Punji is a free mobile app for Nepali investors. It puts the live NEPSE market, your portfolio, and the day’s floor activity on one screen — in English or नेपाली. Available on iOS, with Android in closed beta.
Is it really free?
Every feature is free, with no premium tier and no trial countdown. A few small ads on a handful of screens keep the lights on. Your portfolio and watchlist are never shared with ad networks.
Where does the live NEPSE data come from?
Directly from the official Nepal Stock Exchange feed during market hours. Punji handles the plumbing so your phone just shows the result.
How does Punji handle capital gains tax?
You see the net payout — after tax, after broker fees — before you decide to sell. No spreadsheets, no calculator app, no second-guessing your math.
Is my portfolio data private?
Holdings, watchlists and alerts stay private to your account. Quantities, prices and totals are never sent to analytics or ad networks. Face ID or fingerprint gates the device-local view.
