Paper trading Nepal
Practice trades
that feel real.
Trade a full NEPSE season with virtual cash and real prices. Every order charges broker commission, SEBON fee, DP charge and capital gains tax, exactly as a real trade would, so the practice actually means something.
The problem with paper trading
Most paper trading skips broker fees, SEBON charge, DP charge and capital gains tax. That teaches you a version of NEPSE trading that does not exist.
What it gives you
Four things a real practice run needs.
Broker fees, taxes, unrealised gains, and a benchmark. The numbers you would actually face on a real trade, applied to a virtual one.
How it works
Three steps from open to order.
Open the arena, pick any stock, place a buy or sell. Fees and tax calculate automatically before you confirm.
- 01
Open the arena and check your balance
Each season starts with a fresh virtual cash balance. Open the arena tab, see your current holdings and how the season stands, then decide what you want to buy.
- 02
Place a limit order
Pick a stock, set the price you want, and confirm. The order ticket shows broker commission, SEBON fee, DP charge and capital gains tax before you tap confirm, exactly as it would on a real trade.
- 03
Watch it settle and compare on the leaderboard
Your order fills at the real market price if the conditions are met, or expires at end of day if not. Check the leaderboard to see where your season return sits against other participants.
- What is virtual trading?
- Virtual trading, sometimes called paper trading, is practising the stock market with pretend money. You place real-looking buy and sell orders on real stocks at real prices, but nothing is deducted from your bank account. The point is to learn how the market behaves before you put actual rupees on the line.
- Do I risk any real money?
- No. Every order in the arena uses virtual cash. There is no connection to your broker account, no real DEMAT, and nothing leaves your wallet. You can buy, sell, and lose the entire balance without a single paisa at stake.
- Are the prices real NEPSE prices?
- Yes. The arena uses live NEPSE market data, the same feed that drives the rest of the app. When you place a limit order in the arena, it fills at the actual market price, not a simulated one. If NABIL trades at Rs. 512, your arena order executes at Rs. 512.
- Why do my practice trades pay broker fees and tax?
- Because a practice that ignores fees teaches you the wrong habit. In real NEPSE trading, every buy and sell carries broker commission, a SEBON regulatory fee, a DP charge on sells, and capital gains tax. The arena charges all four on every order so your results mean something: a trade that looks profitable in the arena will look the same when you do it for real.
- How do seasons and the leaderboard work?
- Each season starts with the same virtual balance for every participant. You trade freely across the season window using real NEPSE prices. At the end, the leaderboard ranks everyone by portfolio return. Seasons reset so new and experienced traders start equal each time.
- Is virtual trading free?
- Yes. The full arena, including order placement, the leaderboard, and the fee breakdown on every ticket, is free on iOS and Android. No upgrade required.
