How this is worked out

  • A month’s return is its last close against the last close of the month before, from NEPSE’s published index closes.
  • A month counts only with at least 10 sessions and the month before it held; the month in progress is left out. Nothing is estimated.
  • A month’s average and median show once it has 5 years. Until then the page gives the years and how many rose: one year is a fact, not a pattern.
  • Nepali months run Baisakh to Chaitra (BS), from NEPSE’s same closes placed on the Nepali calendar.
  • NEPSE’s own data service keeps about a year of history, so most months hold one or two years today; the grid grows as months end.
